Michelob Ultra, a subsidiary of AB InBev (BUD) - Get Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA Sponsored ADR (Belgium) Report, has released its full length "Jimmy Works It Out" commercial ahead of Super Bowl LIV in Miami, FL.
The ad stars professional wrestler and actor John Cena and Jimmy Fallon, "working out" with a beer as a reward at the end. The commercial shows Fallon and Cena running alongside Olympic sprinter Usain Bolt (during which Fallon states "This is it! This is how I die!"), lifting weights, golfing, and playing volleyball and football.
Fallon appears to finally find his groove while playing football. The ad has other cameos, including The Roots (Fallon's house band on NBC's (NBC) "The Tonight Show"). Sports stars such as golfer Brooks Koepka and volleyball player Kerri Walsh Jennings also are featured in the commercial.
Michelob has bought advertising spots for 21 Super Bowls since its inception. It has produced 25 different commercials for 780 combined seconds of television advertising, according to AdAge. In total it has spent $65.5 million (adjusted for inflation).
AB InBev is going big with their Super Bowl ad campaign this year, with four 60-second spots. In addition to Michelob Ultra, Michelob Ultra Gold, Budweiser, Bud Light, Bud Light Seltzer will also have commercials air during the big game. Bud Light will also host a hour-long special on Fox (FOXA) - Get Fox Corporation Report on February 1 featuring live performances from the second annual Bud Light Super Bowl Music Fest in Miami, Florida.
