Tide will have its own commercial airing during the game. It will feature "Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia" star Charlie Day, and "Schitt's Creek" star Emily Hampshire. Hampshire will be making her Super Bowl commercial debut.
The actress, 38, teamed up with Day to star in Tide’s upcoming ad.
In the clip, Hampshire and Day sort through their dirty laundry together. “Walt’s fine wine, hot dogs, pinball,” Hampshire read off the front of one of Day’s old shirts. “So cute,” Hampshire said. “It turns out that Walt’s didn’t stay open very long because the people who want hot dogs and pinball are not the same people who drink fine wine,” Day said.
Next, Hampshire pulls out what appears to be a child-size Christmas sweater. “It would be cute if it was for a child,” she said. “It was for my ex-husband...I shrunk it and now we are divorced.”
Tide's full length commercial is scheduled to air during the first quarter of the big game.
Proctor & Gamble is also trying something new this year with its Super Bowl advertising campaign. It is having customers help create one of its Super Bowl ads.
With a star-studded cast that includes Sofia Viagra, Rob Riggle, Troy Polamalu, Isaiah Mustafa, Busy Philipps, and Manolo Vergara, as well as products such as Bounty, Mr. Clean, Febreeze, Olay, Charmin, Head & Shoulders, and Old Spice.
People who visit the site WhenWeComeTogether.com will be able to choose how they want to see Vergara and her guests clean up a messy Super Bowl party surprise. The most popular scenarios chosen among viewers will be featured in a 60-second ad that will be created just minutes before it airs during the fourth quarter of Sunday night’s game.
