Sunrun CEO: Solar Gains Won't Be Reversed By Falling Oil Prices

Solar power has turned the corner in America and its advance will not be reversed by lower fossil fuel prices, said Lynn Jurich, CEO of Sunrun. Jurich added that the cost of making and installing solar panels has dropped dramatically, which is why homeowners are adding them in record numbers. As for her own company, Jurich said the average Sunrun customer is expected to save thousands on electricity bills over the life of their contract if utility rates continue to increase as they have historically. Finally, Jurich said fossil fuel companies receive far lar larger government subsidies than renewable energy providers.
