Sundance is easily the country's best-known American film festival but unlike in years past, filmmakers searching for a huge theatrical release may be sorely disappointed. Video distribution consultant Jason Resnick said, 'I think if you're an independent filmmaker it's exciting because there are ways your film will get out there. It's more democratic in the way a film can be discovered so I think that's going to continue to progress.' Resnick said this year it looks as though online platforms will play a bigger role in acquiring films and because of that, 'If you have big expectations about a big theatrical release that's probably not going to happen.' TheStreet's Ruben Ramirez reports from Park City, Utah.
