Sundance used to reject any short film that played first on the Internet. But times have changed, as this year's short program is running on YouTube, which has a large presence at the festival. Sundance programmer Groth also thinks Netflix is a positive, saying increased publicity towards indie films will ultimately help increase theater attendance.
