Hurricane Dorian has made landfall in the Bahamas.

The hurricane, which has been downgraded to a Category 2, is expected to continue on a path to hit Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas.

Jeff Marks, senior portfolio analyst with Action Alerts PLUS, talked to TheStreet about stocks to watch ahead of a hurricane.

"I would look at the auto parts stocks, so that's going to be like Auto Zone (AZO) - Get Report , O'Reilly (ORLY) - Get Report , Advance Auto Parts, ticker symbol (AAP) - Get Report , not Action Alerts PLUS. Because there's always some type of vehicle destruction that takes place," said Marks.

Some other stocks to watch? Home Depot (HD) - Get Report and Lowe's (LOW) - Get Report as well as Waste Management (WM) - Get Report
