Stocks Little Changed in Early Trade, Dow on Track for 13% Gain This Year
A quiet end to stock trading on Friday, with markets little changed early going. But markets will record big yearly gains.
Stocks were trading little changed early Friday, the last trading day of the year. While it doesn't look like the Dow will hit 20,000 today, it still up 13% this year. Oil prices were trending lower, but according to Reuters they are still on track for their biggest annual percentage gain since 2009 after OPEC agreed to cut production a few weeks ago. Some NBC channels may go dark on Charter Communications (CHTR) - Get Report cable systems. Charter and Comcast's (CMCSA) - Get Report NBCUniversal have been unable to reach an agreement on a new contract, which could result in NBC channels being pulled on New Year's Day.
