Stocks faltered in Friday's midday trading. The Dow Industrials is wavering on the flat line while the Nasdaq is decisively lower. Tech stocks like Juniper Networks (JNPR) and Microchip Technology (MCHP) are pushing the Nasdaq down. Both warned they will miss quarterly forecasts. Exact Sciences (EXAS) is rallying on news its colon cancer test will be covered by Medicare. Exact Sciences CEO, Kevin Conroy spoke to TheStreet on the financial benefits of early detection. Other stocks bucking the trend are Alpha Pro Tech (APT) and Lake Industries (LAKE). Both shares are rising amid concerns of an Ebola outbreak. Alpha Pro Tech makes face masks and eye shields and Lakeland produces protective clothing for health care and first responders.
