It was a volatile day of trading as equities whipsawed from rallying to selling off with stocks ending the day only slightly lower Tuesday. Crude oil breached six-year lows earlier in the day after OPEC member the United Arab Emirates reiterated their commitment to current levels of oil production. Prices for February delivery ended the session up 0.43% to settle at $46.27 a barrel. The CBOE Volatility Index, a measure of market fear, spiked more than 2% to 20.17. And, GoPro shares were among the worst performers on markets after Apple was granted a patent for a sports camera operated via smartphone or watch.
