Stocks Defensive on Orlando Mass Shooting, Brexit Fears and Fed
Attacks at a gay nightclub in Orlando are putting investors on edge. In all, 50 people were killed and 53 were wounded. The gunman himself, Omar Matteen, was also killed. The shooter is said to have proclaimed allegiance to ISIS. Facebook triggered its safety feature for the first time for a U.S. based tragedy. There are also 'Brexit' fears in the market today. Stocks are following overseas markets lower as U.K. voters will choose to leave the European Union in just over a week. The Nikkei fell 3.5 percent as the yen strengthened ahead of the Bank of Japan meeting. Millions of TV viewers have lost access to Tribune TV stations (TRCO) - Get Report due to a fee dispute with DISH network (DISH) - Get Report . Approximately 5 million DISH subscribers in 33 markets across 34 states and the District of Columbia lost access to local TV stations owned by Tribune late Sunday.
