Stocks Close Mixed, Beyonce & Jay-Z Help Pandora Gain in the Session

Stocks managed to close mixed after trading in negative terrain most of the day Thursday. Transportation stocks drove higher with Fedex (FDX) leading the gains, UPS (UPS) followed to close in the green as well. Pandora (P) closed higher after striking a deal with BMG for hit songs from artists including Beyonce and JayZ. Earnings drove stocks like Restoration Hardware (RH) and Lululemon (LULU). Restoration Hardware dropped after reporting its revenue fell short of expectations while Lululemon (LULU) rose significantly after posting better-than-expected earnings and raised its full-year outlook. Darden (DRI) is on the earnings watchlist for Friday. Investors will see what causal dining restaurant chain operator will serve after promotions like Olive Garden's all-you-can-eat pasta passes.
