Investors should stick with quality U.S. stocks despite the recent volatility in the market because the economy is accelerating, said David Lafferty, Chief Market Strategist for Natixis Global Asset Management. Lafferty added that a slowdown in Europe will not contaminate the American economy because the lower euro will eventually improve their fortunes. He said lower energy prices are favorable for U.S. consumers, although the strength of the dollar may weigh on U.S. multinationals during earnings season. Finally, Lafferty said he is not worried about a bear market in bonds and he sees interest rates slowly moving upward.
