Facebook's  (FB) - Get Report Mark Zuckerberg is not like the cognitive genius depicted in The Social Network. He is far more 'old-school,' said Antonio Garcia Martinez, author of Chaos Monkeys. 'He created an engineering first culture in which people are motivated to make the world more open and connected, which is the motto for Facebook. And people really do believe that,' said Martinez. 'They really do want to take over the world and won't rest until everybody in the world is staring at a Facebook screen.' Martinez has been an advisor to Twitter, a product manager for Facebook and the CEO of AdGrok which was a venture-backed startup acquired by Twitter. Martinez also worked for Goldman Sachs (GS) - Get Report as a strategist. As for Facebook's chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg, Martinez characterizes her as somebody who both knew her boss inside and out, as well as a leader who could get a fractious group on the same proverbial page. 'She can take a roomful of cats and get them all to go in one direction,' said Martinez. He added that Sandberg took the ball on advertising because Zuckerberg was less interested - if at all - in that aspect of the business.
