Starbucks held its biennial investor event today. Why is this always a spectacle? Because it only comes around every two years, and is used as a platform by Howard Schultz to discuss the future of Starbucks. While Starbucks' new express order platform and same-day delivery service that will be rolled out in 2015 stole the show, there were some other interesting things shared. For example, Starbucks opened its first Reserve brand store in Seattle today. Yes, the company has created a new brand, one meant to offer a more premium coffee experience. Furthermore, the company hinted that bagged coffee and other merchandise found near the register could be bought soon by simply scanning it with your smartphone.
