Starbucks announced today that it would begin rolling out charging pads in its store tables. Procter & Gamble's Duracell makes the Powermat, which is the product that will be installed in the tables. Consumers using power hungry smartphones complain that keeping the devices charged is their biggest challenge. Go into any Starbucks today and the best seat is the one by the outlet. This gives customers a reason to come to the store and hang out even longer. Duracell started a group called the Power Matters Alliance back in 2012 with Starbucks and AT&T on the board. Verizon supports a different standard.
