Staples is investigating a possible credit card data breach. The company said it has contacted law enforcement amid reports that banks noticed patterns of fraudulent activity at Staples locations. Staples could be the latest retailer to be plagued by data breaches, which have impacted stores like The Home Depot, Neiman Marcus, Target and financial institution JPMorgan Chase. While details about the suspected breach still remain unclear, TheStreet's Scott Gamm sat down with Mike Potts, CEO of Lancope, an IT Security company, to talk about data breaches and what consumers can do to protect themselves.
