A month after Sprint dropped its bid to buy the company, T-Mobile is proving it is more than capable of sparking growth on its own. The fourth-largest wireless carrier in the U.S. confirmed on Friday that it had added 552,000 postpaid customers in August. Postpaid plans are critical to cell companies, given they often lock customers into a contract and provide a consistent monthly revenue stream over the contract’s life. T-Mobile also added 208,000 pre-paid customers last month. Across all its offerings, the Washington state-based company added 2.75 million customers in August, the largest jump in T-Mobile's history.
