S&P 500 to End 2015 Between 2,000 and 2,100, ETF Manager Says
Don’t let the S&P 500’s price swings worry you.
Don’t let the S&P 500’s price swings worry you. The broad index is expected to wrap up 2015 between 2,000 and 2,100, according to Simon Maierhofer, founder of iSPYETF. That’s a gain of 3.6 percent to 8.8 percent from its current level of 1,930. But there will be plenty of volatility ahead. Maierhofer said he expects to see the S&P 500 break its previous low for the year back in August, when the index dipped to 1,867, followed by a recovery during the fourth quarter. ‘Often times, investors sell at the worst time,’ Maierhofer said. ‘If things get worse over the next two weeks, don’t sell in a panic. Wait until things come back up.’ The S&P 500 is down over 6 percent since the start of the year.
