Facebook Inc (FB) - Get Report is rolling out video feature 'Watch' to users over the next few weeks. The idea is original video content that is personalized to a user's interests as well as what their friends are watching.
The tab will feature professionally produced short-form content from partners including A&E, Hearst, Major League Baseball and National Geographic.
The feature will be released on Thursday to a select number of users in the U.S. before being rolled at globally.
Original programming could be available on the site as early as Aug. 28, according to Business Insider. Facebook hopes the move will increase is advertising revenue and keep people on the site

"Watching a show doesn't have to be passive ... You'll be able to chat and connect with people during an episode, and join groups with people who like the same shows afterwards to build community," said Mark Zuckerberg.
