Sony Pictures' Low Budget 'No Good Deed' Tops Box Office

It continues to be a rough stretch for the movie industry. It began with the end of Labor Day weekend, which saw the worst summer earnings since 2006. It continued the following weekend, with the worst weekend ticket sales in thirteen years. This past weekend a $13.2 million-budgeted film took home top box office earnings, despite the movie receiving an abysmal 14% approval rating from Rotten Tomatoes. 'No Good Deed' nearly doubled it's budgeted worth in its opening weekend, making $24.5 million in ticket sales. Many analysts reinforce that early September is a traditionally a very slow time for the industry.
