Packaging yourself is as important as packaging your product, so clothes do indeed make the man, said Mark Weber, former CEO of PVH and author of 'Always In Fashion.' Weber added that running a female fashion brand like Donna Karan was challenging for a male CEO, but in the end it all comes down to being a smart retailer. He said that he faced cultural differences as an American helping to lead the European luxury brand company LVMH, yet once again the overriding principles of managing a profitable brand remain the same, no matter where the headquarters is located. Finally, Weber said retail continues to evolve as more channels are available to reach the consumer.
