SIFMA's Blunders Among Ordinary Investors' Worst Moments in 2014
Susan Antilla reveals the Wall Street firms and regulators who have 'won' her awards for giving ordinary investors some of their worst moments in 2014.
Susan Antilla, founding fellow of TheStreet Foundation, reveals the Wall Street firms and regulators who have 'won' her awards for giving ordinary investors some of their worst moments in 2014. Among them is the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, which Antilla says took bows for taking care of the small investor with investor literacy campaigns and a Stock Market Game for students. However, Antilla notes that at the same time, SIFMA has lobbied against proposals to raise stockbrokers to a fiduciary standard. Antilla says SIFMA also had a big ceremony to honor two brokerage firms for their diversity efforts, one being Goldman Sachs, which is also the target of a class-action gender discrimination lawsuit.
