Shazam, the world's leading music recognition app with more than 100 million mobile monthly active users, transcends music, movies and television. Chief Revenue Officer, Kevin McGurn, tells TheStreet's Jill Malandrino a big chunk of revenue is derived through partners such as Apple and Google. The company also has key ad partnerships with Rdio, Spotify, Deezer and Beats and Shazam is reaching out to Fortune 500 companies. While Shazam is a private company not actively looking to go public, McGurn says the company has lots of options and has been in the business for over 13 years, building-out the audience and revenue stream is core to the valuation and goals to grow organically.
