Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R., Alaska) tells TheStreet's Joe Deaux in Houston that Russia's movement into Ukraine demonstrates how Russia has used its energy assets as a political lever. Murkowski says lifting the ban on U.S oil exports perhaps would prevent Europe from being reliant on one energy source. The senator suggests that a U.S. crude oil presence in Europe could help during conflicts, and adds that how the U.S. uses its energy assets could provide for a level of political stability.
