Scary October for Stocks, Dow Drops 238 Points, Russell in Correction

Stock are starting the fourth quarter on a rough note. The Dow Jones Industrial ended down 237 points Wednesday. October is typically known to be a scary month for stocks. All the major markets lost more than 1%. The Russell 2000 Index is now in correction mode, down 10% from its July record. Ebola fears pushed airline stocks lower. Delta Air (DAL), American Airlines (AAL) and Jetblue (JBLU) all fell more than 3%. Steel producers, AK Steel (AKS) dropped more than 9% and U.S. Steel fell more than 5%. Angie's List (ANGI) was one of today's few big gainers. The stock is up nearly 20% on the Financial Times' report that the company is exploring options to sell itself.
