Royal Dutch Shell Plc (RDS.A) posted stronger-than-expected third quarter earnings Thursday thanks to the ongoing rise in global oil prices, rounding out the best collective quarter for western oil majors in three years.#
Credit Suisse Group (CS) - Get Reportposted a smaller-than-expected third quarter profit Thursday and said it was prepared to meet with activist investors RBR Capital amid speculation it could split into three groups focused on private wealth management, asset management and investment banking.
