Samsung CEO Avoids Corruption Charges
A South Korean court has rejected an arrest warrant request for Jay Y. Lee, Samsung's CEO.
A South Korean court has rejected an arrest warrant request for Jay Y. Lee, Samsung's (SSNLF) CEO. If granted, Lee would have been detained on bribery and corruption charges. Prosecutors had previously questioned Lee for 22 hours.
Samsung shares rose on the news of Lee's release. Authorities have also vowed to pursue Samsung Vice Chair Choi Gee-Sung.
