When it comes to warehouse club chains Costco (COST) - Get Report is the 800-pound gorilla. For the past two years its sales have far surpassed those of rival Sam's Club. But Sam's Club has a wide ranging plan of attack to change that. The Walmart (WMT) - Get Report subsidiary is aiming to grow market share by offering a lot more high-margin private label products, more free food samples in the stores, a new scan-and-go checkout option and juicing up surprise, one-of-a-kind finds that create that treasure hunt appeal. Brian Sozzi talks with Jeanne Yurman about the details and whether the Sam's Club strategy might gain traction after visiting with its CEO ahead of Walmart's annual meeting.
