Salesforce (CRM) - Get Report has a new president and chief revenue officer: Gavin Patterson. In this new position, Patterson will lead the company’s global sales organization.
So Who Is Mr. Patterson?
Patterson joined Salesforce in 2019 as Chair of Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Salesforce's fastest-growing region globally. In early 2020, he was named President and CEO of Salesforce International.
Prior to Salesforce, Patterson served as CEO of BT Group—a British telecom company—from 2013 to 2019. However, he was fired from BT after investors lost confidence in his plan to turn around the company, which included thousands of layoffs.
"Gavin is an outstanding global leader and I'm delighted to welcome him as the Chief Revenue Officer of Salesforce. Gavin's global experience, network, and public company CEO experience uniquely position him for this critical leadership position at Salesforce," said Marc Benioff, Chair and CEO of Salesforce in a press statement.
"I am excited to be part of the global success story of Salesforce," said Patterson. "In the months ahead, we will remain focused on helping our customers recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, deploying our technology and enabling them to re-open their businesses and communities safely."
Salesforce’s stock has outperformed the market in the last three months, sliding 10%. That’s compared to a 16% drop for the S&P 500.
