Salesforce Could Be in Play, Shares Soar After Gains This Year
Software Company Salesforce (CRM) could be in play.
Software Company Salesforce (CRM) could be in play. Bloomberg reports that it has hired financial advisors to evaluate and field possible offers to buy the company. The stock soared on the news and continues to gain this morning. If the report is true, only a handful of companies could realistically execute such a deal, given Salesforce's market capitalization of $44 to $46 billion dollars. Only Microsoft (MSFT), IBM (ICM), Oracle (ORCL), and possibly SAP (SAP) could be buyers. All of these companies have their own related offerings. Any deal is far from a reality and may never happen at all.
