The escalating dispute between the United States and Russia is the worst since the Cold War. Russia says Friday morning it will retaliate against the United States for imposing sanctions on Russian intelligence agencies and expelling what the State Department said were 35 intelligence operatives. Russia's foreign ministry says it is considering expelling U.S. diplomats in response. Washington took the action over Russia's alleged use of cyber attacks to interfere with the 2016 presidential election. It's the end of the trading year and the end of the quarter. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 13% this year, 8% of that coming since the election. The S&P 500 rose 10% this year. The Nasdaq has gained almost 9%.
