RumorFix: Sundance is all About Getting Celebrity Scoops
The entertainment media and paparazzi converge on Park City, Utah, each January for the Sundance Film Festival where it’s difficult to walk down Main Street without bumping into a celebrity. But, while most of media is trying to snap photos or ask questions about their involvement in films, RumorFix.com is taking a different approach. RumorFix Editor Richard Ayoub said the site is trying to break news and make headlines with stories that aren’t necessarily related to what’s happening at the film festival. One big scoop so far, Modern Family’s Sophia Vergara never returned the engagement ring to Nick Loeb after they called it quits. RumorFix, which bills itself as the anti-tabloid by verifying the accuracy of all the celebrity news it publishes, says its taking a different approach to covering the festival as a way to differentiate its coverage.
