Defense spending may be declining, but shares of military aircraft supplier Rockwell Collins have taken off in the past year, rising nearly 40%. Rockwell CEO Kelly Ortberg credits the company's ability to plan in the face of defense budget uncertainty, as well as its growing non-government aviation business for its success. Ortberg sees business with corporate customers like Boeing growing in 2014, especially with the addition of ARINC communication systems which it purchased last year.
