The "buy the dip strategy," a cornerstone of last year when there was little volatility, is still in play for 2018, according to Kate Warne, an investment strategist for Edward Jones.
Within the technology sector, which has acted as a safe haven for investors as of late amid trade war worries, Warne is fond of Microsoft (MSFT) , which yields 1.7% and has risen 19% so far this year. Warne expects Microsoft's earnings to grow 10% per year over the next five years.
