Retirees and those close to retirement should not make any drastic moves as a result of the current market selloff, said Jane Bryant Quinn, author of How to Make Your Money Last. “At 60 or 65 you are going to live another 25 or 30 years, so you are just as much a long term investor as you were when you were 40 or 45,” said Quinn, adding that corporate profits and stock prices will be higher in two or three decades so this week’s drop will be inevitably be a blip. Quinn’s previous books include Making the Most of Your Money NOW, Smart and Simple Financial Strategies for Busy People and Everyone’s Money Book.
