Just small gains propelled Wall Street to new records mid-week. The three major indexes closed at record highs, the Dow for its third day in a row, the Nasdaq its fourth, and the S&P 500 its fifth.

Tesla Inc. (TSLA) - Get Report jumped after Nomura analysts initiated coverage with a buy rating and $500 price target. The firm believes Tesla can work through production hurdles that have plagued its Model 3.

PepsiCo Inc. (PEP) - Get Report reported a mixed third quarter. Earnings came in a nickel ahead of consensus, while revenue missed by $70 million. Organic revenue increased 1.3%.

Mylan NV (MYL) - Get Report was the top performer on the S&P after the FDA granted approval to its generic version of a Teva Pharmaceuticals' (TEVA) - Get Report drug that treats multiple sclerosis. BTIG Research raised its price target on the news.
