A group of environmental activists gathered in New York City on the sidelines of the Sohn Investment Conference to protest hedge fund investments in non-renewable energy. The group, known as The Hedge Clippers, was protesting hedge fund investors who are in attendance at the conference. The Sohn Conference is a fundraiser for brain cancer research. Protestors said some of those hedge fund managers attending invest in fossil fuels which they said is hypocritical because fossil fuel use may lead to cancer. The group said hedge fund managers Paul Singer, Seth Klarman, David Einhorn and Stanley Druckenmiller have invested billions in fossil fuel companies.
