Consumer products company Procter & Gamble (PG) may be readying for the departure of its chief executive A.G. Lafley. 67-year-old Lafley and other P&G senior executives have indicated in private meetings with Wall Street analysts and investors that he is about to step down, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal. Lafley will reportedly leave his position later this year, but stay on as chairman for another year or two to aid in the new CEO's transition. Lafley was CEO from 2000 to 2009 and came out of retirement two years ago to replace Bob McDonald with the intention of reviving the company and finding a new successor. That's reportedly expected to be David Taylor, a near 35-year veteran at the firm.
