President Donald Trump nominated Jerome Powell to succeed Janet Yellen as Federal Reserve Chair.
President Donald Trump nominated Jerome Powell to succeed Janet Yellen as Federal Reserve Chair.
The announcement was made Thursday.
Powell has served on the Federal Reserve Board of Governors since 2012 and formerly worked at private equity firm The Carlyle Group (CG) - Get Report .
The nomination requires Senate confirmation.
Yellen's term expires in Feb. 2014.
