President of Mars Wrigley Confectionery Talks Women and Engineering
Privately held Mars Inc., which makes global brands like M&M's, Snickers, Milky Way, and Skittles, is making a sweet effort to get more women into leadership.
Currently, only 25% of national leadership positions are held by women. Although at the Mars Wrigley Confectionary US division, the number is closer to 42%, says its president, Berta De Pablos-Barbier.
"It has been proven that with at least 30% of female leadership, the profits are 6 times higher," she says. So the company's overall goal is to hit gender parity by 2020.

So it is offering training, mentoring and an environment that encourages work/life balance.
De Pablos-Barbier was raised in Spain and her mother was an engineer and encouraged her to become one too. As a women who has spent a lot of time in a man's world, so she has some solid advice for young women.
