Increasing the minimum wage seems to be an ongoing conversation for the White House. Wednesday they took that conversation on the road to the University of Michigan. President Obama wants to increase the federal minimum wage from $7.25 an hour to $10.10 an hour. The significance of this being held in Michigan is that Detroit has been hit particularly hard by the economic downturn, especially with factory workers. There are thirty four states considering increases to their minimum wages this year.
