A Picasso Painting Fetched $179 million dollars at an auction at Christie's Monday night, the most ever paid for a work of art at auction. The 1955 painting entitled 'Women of Algiers' surpassed the $142 million paid for a Francis Bacon work two years ago. Gap (GPS) sales were hurt by the strong U.S. dollar.
