Pfizer Reportedly Approaches Drugmaker Medivation About a Buyout
Pfizer (PFE) - Get Report has reportedly approached San Francisco based cancer drug maker Medivation (MDVN) about a buyout. Pfizer's interest comes less than a week after Sanofi announced it was also trying to buy the company for $9.3 billion. Fortune magazine says Medivation has not yet decided if it will engage with Pfizer. Under Armous (UA) - Get Report has inked what is being called the richest deal ever with a Major League baseball player. The deal with Washington National star outfielder Bryce Harper is said to be for 10 years but his agent isn't saying just how much it's worth. Harper already had a deal with Under Armour, so this is an extension. CBS (CBS) - Get Report reports its 1st quarter revenue rose 10%. It saw a huge jump in advertising revenue mostly due to the Super Bowl and political advertising. Even without football, CBS still had a 12% jump in advertising dollars. ADP released job growth estimates today. Durable Goods orders for March are released. Non-manufacturing ISM numbers are reported.
