On Monday evening, pet supplies retailer Petco filed papers with the SEC for a prospective IPO. The company is no stranger to conducting roadshows to get investors wagging their tails about its prospects. Petco was taken private in October 2000 by Leonard Green and Texas Pacific, and it went public again in February 2002. Then, it was taken private once more in 2006 by the same cast of characters for about $1.68 billion. In spite of the tough competition in the pet care business Petco faces thanks to Walmart (WMT), Target (TGT) and Amazon (AMZN), TheStreet found three reasons why investors may embrace the IPO.
