Coca-Cola (KO) - Get Report and PepsiCo (PEP) - Get Report are taking notice of the massive global demand for bottled water and its profit opportunity. In 2015, bottled-water consumption hit an all-time high of 11.7 billion gallons as soft drinks had an 11th consecutive year of declines. PepsiCo's quarterly revenue haven't grown significantly since 2013. Consumption for Coca-Cola products has also stalled worldwide. Non-sugary versions of soda did help declining consumption of their sugary counterparts but eventually health conscious consumers became wary of the ingredients used in stripped-down versions of the original drinks.
