‘Hack the Pentagon’ is on - the Defense Department’s new initiative to bolster its cybersecurity. Vetted hackers will test the Department’s websites and Internet networks to find security holes and flaws. ‘I am always challenging our people to think outside the five-sided box that is the Pentagon,’ said Secretary of Defense Ash Carter, in a statement. ‘Inviting responsible hackers to test our cybersecurity certainly meets that test. I am confident this innovative initiative will strengthen our digital defenses and ultimately enhance our national security.' The program stats in April and hackers may even be rewarded with money for taking part in the competition. TheStreet’s Scott Gamm reports from Wall Street.
