Change from the cash register could soon be a thing of the past.
Change from the cash register could soon be a thing of the past. Payment start up Square is making its financial service software available internationally. The cubic credit card readers will soon be available for retailers in English, Spanish, French and Japanese. Square's software can turn a smart phone or tablet into a payment mechanism. The hardware device isn't yet available in Europe. Company CEO and co-founder of Twitter Jack Dorsey made the expansion announcement in London on Thursday but declined to give a timeline for the company expansion plans. The Square payment app now supports 130 currencies and is available for both Apple and Android devices.
