Dutch jewelry company PANDORA plans to open 250 new stores globally this year as it draws in new and younger customers. PANDORA announced the expansion as it released quarterly results on Wednesday. For the fourth-quarter, revenue rose 36% in local currency, with gains seen in every region. Revenue was up 17% in the United States. ‘We had strong momentum through Q4,’ said Scott Burger, President of PANDORA Americas, who is now gearing up for Valentine’s Day sales. ‘We have an Expressions of Love collection that is obviously a focus point over the Valentine’s Day holiday. Also gift sets are very appealing to our male customers.’ Burger said PANDORA is expanding its customer base, which traditionally has been women between the ages of 35 and 49. Burger said he’s seeing new customers as young as 18. ‘Rings and leather have really allowed us to connect with a younger demographic,’ he explained.
