Auction house Christie's will be offering an original Apple computer this December that could fetch as much as $600,000. Named after its first owner, the Ricketts' Apple-1 Personal Computer is the only known surviving Apple-1 documented to have been sold directly by Steve Jobs to an individual owner. Jobs sold the computer to Charles Ricketts out of his parents' garage in 1976 for $600. Christie's says the product, which is accompanied by two cancelled checks written by Ricketts, has the highest estimate yet for an original Apple-1 offered at auction. The computer is fully operational, having been serviced and started by Apple-1 expert Corey Cohen in October 2014. Christie's will offer the Apple-1 on December 11 in New York.
