Orbital ATK is the Biggest Defense Deal in Years
The Deal's Lou Whiteman thinks the merger between Orbital Sciences and Alliant will kick start other defense and government related deals that slowed as a result of sequestration.
It's the biggest defense deal in years: Orbital Sciences and Alliant agree to a $4.5 billion merger. Alliant, known as ATK, will spin off its sporting goods group known for its rifles. Lou Whiteman, Sr. Writer for The Deal thinks this deal will kick start other defense and government related deals that slowed as a result of sequestration. Whiteman believes many deals have been waiting to see some thawing from the government and this looks to be the first sign.
